Hazel Peavoy, Walton Institute Senior Strategic Business Partner (AGRI) and VistaMilk SFI Research Centre Site Manager; and Cheryl Nolan (UCD), VistaMilk SFI Research Centre Site Manager for Insight (UCD, DCU, NUI) will be contributing to the upcoming launch of SmartAgriHubs’ GAIA, the Gender Alliance for Innovation in Agriculture.
This new alliance is dedicated to supporting the 4th agricultural revolution in Europe, by supporting inclusive and sustainable solutions.
For the event, taking place in the European Parliament in Brussels and online on Wednesday January 24th, Hazel Peavoy and Cheryl Nolan, representing VistaMilk SFI Research Centre, will create a video that will be presented by Cheryl and shown at the event.
According to GAIA, in agriculture, there still exist significant gaps between men and women, which are aggravated by the challenges of generational renewal:
GAIA focuses on women as excellent farmers, advisors, agri-business actors, entrepreneurs, and Digital Innovation Hubs, who can make significant contributions to the digital transformation of European agriculture. The launch will introduce GAIA’s mission, the alliance partners, and what to expect this coming year.
The event is free to attend. For more information or to register visit the Eventbrite page here.
