Big Look Art is an online education and investment platform for private and corporate art collectors and artists.
Big Look Art has been creating an online learning platform for artists and now wants to leverage this know-how to create and train an AI model for the purpose of having an algorithm that suggest specific artworks to art collectors based on their interests and tastes. This algorithm will then be applied to a large aggregated data set of artists and artworks mapped to a local artist eco-system.
The key problems to solve:
Walton Institute helped Big Look Art by looking at different methodologies to create and train an AI model and develop an API to serve Big Looks current and future use cases.
In order to create an accurate model, a large dataset will be needed. This will be secured by crawling and scraping publicly available records from multiple sources.

This engagement with the team at Walton Institute has enabled the company to have a better understanding of the opportunity Artificial Intelligence (AI) may present in our business context. It offers valuable insight into next steps and identify opportunities to engage further with Walton or other suitable technology partners. A high level report on the outputs of the potential of artificial intelligence engagement and recommended next steps for a potential solution has meant that they can now explore developing a scalable tech stack and open the field to artists and their work.
“Collaborating with Walton provided us with invaluable expertise that we would otherwise not have had access to. The outcomes of the project were enormously beneficial in transforming our idea from concept to reality. The innovation voucher was the first step in our technical journey and we hope to develop our relationship even further.” Fintan O’Byrne, Founder & CEO
