Varad Rajaram Pande

ORCID: 0000-0002-4040-7716

Qualifications:
  • BS-MS Dual Degree from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune, India
  • MS in Physics from University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), USA

Personal Summary

Varad is pursuing a PhD in quantum neuromorphic computing, quantum reservoir computing and quantum computing generally. He is currently exploring the architecture of exciton-polariton condensates for the purpose. He has previously worked on quantum discord and weak measurements, discovered a protocol for remote state determination, discovered a protocol for heat-bath algorithmic cooling and implemented it experimentally in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance architecture, developed a general theory for entropy compression in quantum bits in presence of a heat-bath, worked on aspects of variational quantum algorithms such as barren plateaus, among others. His primary research interests are quantum computing and communication.
