Philip joined Walton Institute in May 2015. His current role is as a Technical Lead in the Mobile Ecosystem & Pervasive Sensing Unit specialising in AI and Machine Learning.
Prior to joining Walton Institute, Philip worked for StitcherAds, managing their involvement in OPENi, a European R&D project funded under FP7. This saw him overseeing all aspects of project management, from requirement specification to code delivery and dissemination. Since joining the Walton, his main focus has been on the application of deep learning to time series forecasting.

Philip’s current research areas are NLP in healthcare, body sensor networks, disease modelling with AI, and Lightweight AI (deploying AI to low-power devices).
Philip is technical coordinator of FAITH, a H2020 project the goal of which is to remotely analyse depression markers, using federated learning, to predict negative trends in the mental health of cancer patients that have undergone therapy.
