Mark Power is a PhD candidate at South East Technological University (SETU) and a member of the MEPS group at Walton Institute. He previously received his MSc in Computing from SETU in 2021. His current research investigates new and novel technological interventions that are utilising Augmented Reality (AR) and Machine Learning (ML) to successfully assist, monitor and assess the fitness levels of children with autism. The goal of this research will be the design and development of a bespoke and innovative augmented reality application with a supporting analytical platform that utilises machine learning techniques to monitor and detail the users progress over time, comparing their fitness levels with datasets and thereby offering a more personalised exercise and interactive fitness application for children with autism. His supervisors for his PhD are Dr Sara Kennedy (Dept of Health Science, SETU), Dr Sharon Kinsella (Dept of Heath Science, SETU), Dr Alberto Huertas Celdrán (University of Zurich), Ian Mills (Walton Institute) and Frances Cleary (Walton Institute).
