Liam Fitzgerald

Liam Fitzgerald joined Walton Institute in September 2022 as ICS Technology Gateway Manager.

Liam’s career to date spans 25 years. His early career included leadership roles with Lidl Ireland Gmbh and Lloyds Pharmacy followed by 10 years running his own Consultancy Business supporting Entrepreneurs, SME’s and Public Organisations. He joined Cork Institute of Technology in 2015 to lead Enterprise Ireland funded Entrepreneur Development Programmes and he joined University College Cork in 2018 to support the development of the Maritime Sector as National Marine Incubation Manager for Ireland – another Enterprise Ireland funded initiative. Immediately prior to joining Walton Institute, Liam was Project Director for the LFDT Summit – a University technology commercialisation Summit attended by 275 people with 40 contributors from Ireland North and South, UK, Europe and the US. 23 University Spin Out promoters also pitched their businesses to an Investor audience.

Liam has a BSc (Food Business) and a Masters in Business Studies from University College Cork. He has Post Graduate qualifications in Leadership, Management, Strategy & Innovation from the Irish Management Institute, a Diploma in Financial Management from ACCA and other qualifications in Coaching, Training and Digital Marketing.
