Personal Summary

Ghulam Murtaza is currently serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Walton Institute at South East Technological University, part of the CONNECT Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre. His current research focuses on Quantum Communication via Satellites, and he is currently working for the development of Quantum Optics Laboratory at Walton institute.

Prior to this role, he pursued his PhD at the National Institute of Optics, Florence; and the University of Naples, Federico II, Italy. During his PhD, he worked on Molecular Quantum Emitter for Quantum Key Distribution. Ghulam Murtaza also holds a Master’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, which he completed in 2019 at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications in China. Furthermore, he obtained his BSc. in Electrical Engineering (Telecommunication) from Govt. College University in Faisalabad, Pakistan, in 2015.
